Where do you get your weather updates? From the news on the TV? From the internet? Well if you use the internet you should try www.footsforecast.org. It’s a website created by Mr. Foot, a former Dundalk High Science teacher.

Mr. Foot is quite the meteorologist. Meteorology is the study of the atmosphere that focuses on weather processing and forecasting. In weather, there are ten types of storms: thunderstorm, tornado, hurricane, extratropical cyclones (cyclonic scale low pressure weather systems that occur in the middle latitudes of the Earth), winter storm, blizzard, ice storm, sandstorm, firestorm, and fog, and seven types of perception: drizzle, rain, snow, graupel (small hail, soft hail, or snow pellets), freezing rain, ice pellets, and hail.

The weather types and precipitation that Mr. Foot gets the most attention for is his snow related predictions. Mr. Foot is currently teaching at Crossroads and he incorporates predicting the weather into his lesson plans. Not only can you get future weather predictions, but you can get the current temperature for your area.

The teachers of Dundalk High are well aware of Mr. Foot’s website, and some even follow it. “I follow the predictions every once in a while,” stated Mrs. Paris, math teacher. “Yes, I follow Foot’s forecast,” Mrs. Evans, science teacher commented. “I follow it every once in a while. He’s usually more right than the weather men on TV,” remarked Mr. Plummer, head custodian.

“Weather is like sports, there is always room for improvement,” commented Mr. Foot.

The next time you want a weather update you might want to think about checking www.footsforecast.org.
