Hot Topic or Pac Sun?

I bet your wondering how can you even compare these two stores because really they’re nothing alike but what I’m comparing is which store is more popular: Hot Topic or Pac Sun?
Let’s start off with Hot Topic; it’s an American retail chain that specializes in music, and pop-cultured related clothing and accessories. Hot Topic has 688 locations in the United States and six stores in Puerto Rico. The first stored was opened in 1988 by Orv Madden who retired as CEO in 2000. In 2006 Hot topic was named number 53 on Fortune 500’s Top Companies To Work For List. About 30% of Hot Topic’s revenue comes from selling licensed band t-shirts and up to 50% of Hot Topic’s sales are generated by accessories including sunglasses, private label body jewelry, hosiery, make-up, licensed band stickers and other miscellaneous pop culture items.
On the other hand, Pac Sun is a United States based retail clothing company that specializes in the youth culture and fashion vibe of Southern California. As of May 2, 2009 the company operated 927 Pac Sun stores in 50 states and Puerto Rico. The store was founded in 1980 as a Newport Beach, California surf shop under a different name. The store offers sweatshirts, jeans, and accessories often associated with the skateboarding culture. Popular clothing brands include Billabong, Bullhead, DC Shoes, Element, Hurley, Fox, O’Neil, Quicksilver and Volcom. Hands down, I like Hot Topic better than Pac Sun because of the variety.
I love the whole look of the store and the people that enter it, Goths, punks; emo’s lesbian, gay whatever I think the store has something to offer for everyone. I love music from Lil Wayne to Avenged Sevenfold and this store is all about the music. Pac Sun is a great store too, but I feel that Hot Topic matches my personality more, but once again my opinion isn’t the only one that matters, so what’s your favorite Hot topic or Pac Sun?

I think it’s funny how I’m a apart of the Journalism staff, and I’m commenting on your story. I enjoy reading what you have to write, and basically what you said about hottopic, is exactly what I was thinking. Pac sun vs. Hottopic. hottopic

As Hot Topic is more affordable, I believe Pac Sun is more fashionable. Tripp pants are not cute, and neither are fishnets. My father took one look in Hot Topic and thought it was a big joke. I think Pac Sun is definitely better.
