What do the girls at DHS think about guys in skinny jeans?

Skinny jeans are everywhere now; in schools, and at the mall. I’ve even seen people wear skinny jeans at funerals even, but more importantly boys and girls alike are wearing them. But what exactly are skinny jeans? This style of pants actually originated in the 1950’s with popular stars such as Roy Rogers, Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley.
By the 60’s, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones were wearing skinny jeans. In the 70’s, skinny jeans became popular with the punk subculture worn by The Clash, Ramones, and the Sex Pistols. They were worn with the popular shoe, Doc Martens. In the 80’s, they were popular with heavy metal bands such as Anthrax, Megadeth, Metallica and they were worn with converse. Now, skinny jeans are popular with indie rock bands such as Kings of Leon, Artic Monkeys and the Kooks. They have also been associated with the scene, emo and hip hop culture.
These jeans have a snug fit through the legs and end in a small leg opening at the bottom, the issue is that some think skinny jeans are only for girls and some think there only for boys so I’ve talked to a few girls at DHS and this is what they seem to think. Twelfth grader Tierra Jones said, “I feel like it is okay for boys to wear skinny jeans as long as they’re not too skinny, like girl jeans.” Apparently 12th grader, Katherine Aviles feels the same way, “I think they can wear them as long as there not wearing really tight jeans like girls usually wear them.” Senior Israel Williams loves boys in skinny jeans. She says, “I think they make guys look sexy. Just don’t sag em’. If we can wear their jeans they can wear ours.” Sisters Alisha and Amber Willis both agree that skinny jeans are fine on boys as long as they’re not too tight.
I have to say that I agree with Israel Williams; I like guys in skinny jeans whether there a little baggy or tight doesn’t matter to me. I think they’re a great alternative to the baggy hip hop style of jeans that boys used to wear. I also like them because no matter what shirt you’re wearing they always make you look fashionable; you can wear a plain tee with skinny jeans and it’s a hot look. Boys in skinny jeans may be a plus for some girls and others may not like them, but whether you like them or not I think it safe to say that these jeans are here to stay.

Skinnies look good on some guys, not others. The same thing applies to girls too. Some people can just pull them off, others cannot. I personally don’t like guys in tight jeans or skinnies; however, most girls seem to think it’s attractive.
