The 80’s were big hair and bright colors, the 90’s were grungy but can anyone actually define a style of the 2000’s? I don’t think there is one trend you can identify with this era because the 2000’s draws so much inspiration from previous decades.

I want to go back, way back to old Hollywood were in my opinion I think fashion was at its best. There were so many fashion icons back in those days but I want to spotlight Katherine Hepburn. She was considered the greatest actress of all time and a fashion icon because of her unconventional ways of dressing and her thoughts on life. Hepburn sported the tomboy look but made it look stylish and sophisticated. She disliked wearing makeup and spoke her mind which raised questions in Hollywood because it was considered immoral for women to wear pants or speak there mind back in those days. Hepburn broke the dress code for the women of her time.

Hepburn’s staples were men trousers, loose fitting button down shirts and loafers with socks. If you’re a girl that likes the tomboy chic look then I have some fashion finds for you. The Gap is a great place to find quality trousers that range from a casual to a professional look, with prices ranging from 30 to 70 dollars. JCPenny is a great place to find button down shirts ranging from 20-30 dollars and Aldo is great place to find quality loafers that range from 50-100 dollars.

Personally, I think this look is good for senior mock interviews because it’s a stylish yet professional look but all of these pieces can be mixed and matched with other clothing items to make a completely different look.
